I’ve started doing BSS workouts on my own, and am not finding much help in the book or here. The science info is good and makes sense, but the weight, TUL, and reps aren’t clear. For ex: I’m 130lbs, 5′3″, and out of shape after a long 9 mos or so of illness- hypoT and Adrenal Fatigue. Here’s info re my ‘trial’ at our local YMCA using cybex machines. Chest Press, 30 lbs, 3 reps, 1.30 TUL. Pulldown,7lbs,2 reps- my left arm/elbow locked up- obviously weaker than right, 60 sec TUL. Leg Press,110 lbs (couldn’t budge 130 or 150 and I used to press more than my body weight) 3 reps, 108 TUL. I did that on Sunday. It’s Tuesday, and I’m aware that I worked out, my arms are a bit firmer, but I’m not sore at all. I’ve always had this issue, no matter how hard I worked out, even when I was doing 45 min of lifting then 45 min of cardio, 3x a week, and was a size 4 - I’m a size 8 now, re loss of muscle tone- my legs rarely were sore, and they’re my ‘trouble spot’. What to do?
