Greetings from the other side of the world. John and I did our “Big 5″ workouts today. Unfortunately, our equipment was limited to a rusty Smith machine. Nonetheless, we were able to tweak the range of motion and rep cadence to offset friction and strength curve issues, and ended up having an excellent workout. We both did the following workout.
Smith Squat (using Moment Arm Exercise range of motion)
Chin-up (SuperSlow 10/10 cadence) using the Smith machine support bridge as the chin-up bar
Bench Press (slight incline, and Moment Arm range of motion)
Reverse grip row (”Yates row”)
Overhead Press (to failure plus top-range partials)
Doug’s ET=8:19, John’s ET=9:20
Despite the equipment limitations, both John and I felt this was one of our best workouts ever. Just goes to show that ideal equipment is not needed to get an awesome, result-stimulating workout.
Afterward we finally got to shoot our segment for NBC’s new reality series. We cannot disclose the details yet, but it should provide massive exposure for BBS and proper exercise, and should be a boon to anyone who runs a HIT facility. More details and pictures to follow tomorrow.
Post your WOW’s.

Monday night we received a call from television producers of a forthcoming reality TV show that wanted (insisted) that both Doug and I to travel (last minute) to Fiji to present Body By Science principles on an episode of their show. This represents a fantastic forum by which to bring the principles of Body By Science to the general public. So much so that we both felt we had to go. That’s the “good news.” The “bad news” is that this necessitated that Doug cancel his scheduled appearances in Lake Zurich, Illinois for this Friday and Saturday . We apologize to any and all who will be inconvenienced by this, but we will reschedule this event at a future date. It has long been our stated purpose that we wrote Body By Science primarily to change the way people exercise; i.e., to create a cultural paradigm shift to a more rational, scientific approach to exercise, and the best way to do this is by presenting our case to as broad an audience as possible. This opportunity, we’ve been told, will reach an audience of between 10 and 15 million viewers, which will lend further support to all of you who have purchased our book and train with Body By Science principles in your own workouts and facilities. We’ll do our best to do right by you during this broadcast, and, again, apologize for the postponement of this coming weekend’s presentation in Illinois. We will endeavor to keep you posted on our Fiji experience as well as the rescheduling of the Lake Zurich talks on this forum.
